Visit AJ’s Diner, a long established restaurant in Crossgar. We first opened our doors in 2002 and are very pround of our extensive menu and range of daily specials. No need to book a table for breakfast, lunch or dinner, we only take bookings for parties of 6+.
We are known for our takeaways, just give us a call and select the takeaway option.

Hector G2022-06-27Hometown Diner We didn’t want to he home from Tennessee to later but couldn’t find a business open before 6 am other than the fast food and 24 hour chain restaurants. I found A.J.s Diner was opened at 6am. I told my wife let’s check it out. It seems to be an old A&W or drive in food stop. I ordered an egg and cheese biscuit sandwich and my wife ordered egg, onion, and cheese omelette. We both had hash browns and coffee with our breakfast. I gave the diner a 5 out of 5 for opening for early morning mostly working people, hometown diner atmosphere, and the food especially the crispy hash browns which we both liked. It’s not a fancy chain restaurant place but we were there for the food!

We were greeted and seated very quickly, given it was Easter and very busy.The staff were very attentive & friendly towards us & our children. Our order was brought out very quickly and was delicious. Even my 2 year old son was digging into my lasagne.We were taken care of from start to finish & all had a great meal. Will definitely be back.
Jill A2022-01-30Excellent food! I can highly recommend the chicken with leeks and white wine sauce. This came with mixed vegetables and garlic chips. Every aspect of the meal was excellent. It was freshly cooked and the portions were generous. My partner had mixed grill & he was equally impressed. Our server was lovely- friendly and professional. Great food and great value, what more can you want?

There is a menu with something to suit every taste and with desserts to die for! Staff are friendly and efficient, surroundings are warm and welcoming. AJs is the reason to visit Crossgar.nigel d2021-12-14Why do you visit Crossgar??-Its simple AJs Diner!! :-) I have tried numerous restaurants and they have always been hit and miss but as for AJs it is always consistent -the food is made fresh to order-the staff are all friendly and very welcoming ensuring you are satisfied with the food,the service and enjoying your meal!!-the portions are more than generous and the atmosphere is so relaxing that you are never in a rush away and as for me I always make sure i have room for my desert-Heated hot chocolate fudge cake and a scoop of ice cream along with my latte (made to my strange request lol) Oh yes -my wife and children are also with me and if we ever decide at short notice to head out -its straight to the car and straight to AJs without having to ask where they want to go.I always take some of my family out before Christmas and treat the in laws and other relatives who travel from Killinchy and Belfast and again they have no interest in trying anywhere else-we all just love AJS and everything about it-I cant sing its praises high enough-Thank you to all the staff and wish you all a peaceful and a Happy Christmas and New Year !!
DCBC422021-11-06My favourite place in Northern Ireland I love coming here every time I get home. Always go for the fry. Staff are so lovely, food is fabulous and generous and it’s amazing value for money. One day I hope to experience the Sunday dinner, there are always queues out the door and this says it all.
Stevie B2021-09-30Overpriced and bland Hi we visited AJs yesterday myself and wife and 2 children,We made our order and food arrived very quicklyI had mixed grill which was £16.95 which was basicaly an all day breakfast priced probably £10 more than it should of been. 1 bacon, 1 sausage, 1 egg, mushrooms, a 1/4 piece of steak and 1/4 chicken breast. it came with a few peas and i mean a few.I was disappointed in what i got for the price i had paid and the food was very bland.Wont be back in a hurry.
Jem2021-08-01Glad to be back We have been coming here for years. Food is lovely and very generous portions. Glad to be back again now restrictions have lifted. The salads are second to none.
